The Columbia Police Department reports today it is investigating an early-morning murder of a 23-year-old man this morning.
The victim was discovered after a Columbia police officer stopped a Toyota Camry traveling fast south on Bull Street with its hazard lights flashing about 3:15 a.m.
After stopping the vehicle at Bull and Lady Streets, the driver told the police officer that his friend had been shot. The victim was dead in the car, the department reported.
Police say the victim, who was not named, was shot while sitting in the Camry, which was parked earlier at a lot at 1701 Main St.
There are no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
