Bud, a 1-year-old Jack Russell terrier, knows how to beat the heat of Columbia’s brutal summers.
He swims in his bone-shaped swimming pool, and he jumps through the spray of a garden hose as his owner waters plants.
“The dog is obsessed with water,” said Barbara Moody, Bud’s owner. “Bud will not leave the hose alone. He’s in that pool every night.”
When the thermometer climbs, Midlands-area dogs are as creative as their human companions when it comes to beating the heat.
