Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has pointed out that the Cabinet meeting in Kilinochchi enabled to intimate a new message to the world on the sovereignty of the motherland. The Minister made this reference at the weekly cabinet news briefing today.
The Minister said the highest office in the country is the Cabinet. Therefore the Government considered that holding the Cabinet meeting in Kilinochchi is a signal locally and internationally that Sri Lanka is a unitary state undivided and that militarily they had routed the LTTE and there is no more a question of a division of the country arising. They found that the people were very happy and content that the highest office of Colombo had moved into their areas. Minister Rambukwella pointed out that the entire Cabinet and the President moved around freely with the public and gave them the confidence that it was not merely development but material and physical development.
