President Rajapaksa has proudly declared that Sri Lanka is enriched with local industrialists who can amaze the world.
The President made this announcement addressing the progress review meeting of the Ministry of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprises. It was held at Temple Trees. The President said that as a country Sri Lanka can be proud of having successfully displayed to the world the island’s pride through various fields. It is opportune to stage a revolution in the industrial sector. The President drew his attention to the programme mooted by the Industrial Development Ministry in implementing the policies enunciated in the “Mahinda Chinthana” Extended Version.
He issued instructions to officials to find immediate solutions to problems confronted by small industrialists. He clarified the need to expand the Production Village concept to suit the present needs. The President emphatically stated that a programme should be crafted to upgrade the Palmyrah industry of the Eastern polity.
