Advice is being sought from the Attorney General regarding investigations in the case against former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka for employing army deserters.
The Colombo Crimes Division which is involved in this investigation is to seek the advice. The Police said that reports pertaining to the investigations conducted have been forwarded to the Attorney General for his advice. Further investigations would be conducted along this direction.
Sarath Fonseka and his Secretary Senaka Silva, who are already in remand were produced before the Colombo Magistrates Court and named as suspects for illegally employing army deserters and paying them salaries.
