Fort Jackson soldiers, employees and visitors can expect longer than usual wait times to enter post today as the installation conducts a force protection exercise, a base spokesperson said.
There will be increased activity of emergency vehicles.
Post officials are conducting a comprehensive exercise which will encompass security elements and emergency services from Fort Jackson and the local community responding to multiple simulated incidents.
Simulated casualties will be transported by emergency vehicles to several area hospitals as part of the exercise.
The post Crisis Management Team will manage the incidents by providing command and control as well as support to the exercise incident sites.
