The country had the required strength and capability to uplift the Cinema industry. Minister Keheliya Rambukwella pointed out that what the country was needed to march forward surmounting challenges.
The Minister said there were many artistes present on this occasion. There are also many who have excelled in administration. As such, he said that he does not believe that the industry has no future. He pointed out that justice could be meted out only if they accept and surmount challenges.
The Minister was addressing a ceremony organized at the Film Corporation. Artistes involved in the Cinema industry appraised the Minister about the problems they are facing. Discussions dealt at length on the initiatives that could be taken to solve these problems. Chairman of the Film Corporation Kumar Abeysinghe disclosed that they had already taken the required initiatives to modernize cinema halls. He opined that more projects are on the cards to uplift the industry. Parliamentarians, artistes and officials were among the large gathering present.
