The graduation ceremony of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management was held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo this morning.
It was the 32nd Graduation ceremony of the Institute. Deputy Minster Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He conferred 3rd year and 4th year Management Diploma/Degrees to the successful candidates. 108 Graduates and Diploma Holders were awarded with certificates recognized nationally and internationally along with special awards for the most outstanding students who had excelled in different disciplines.
Expressing his views, the Deputy Minister said that Sri Lanka has become the most suitable country in South Asia for the Tourism industry. He pointed out that the hotel industry could discharge a valuable service to increase the revenue within a short period. Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Dr. Sagara Silva and Chairman of the Tourist Board Dr. Nalaka Godahewa were among the distinguished gathering present.
