Minister Maithripala Sirisena has said that the main obstacle to the development of the country is the shunning of responsibilities of certain groups. The Minister was speaking at the National Judicial Psychology Rehabilitation Unit.
The Minister said the main challenge they are confronted with is to improve the physical and mental health in the country. He said particularly the mental health sector had to be upgraded in the future. This will eliminate an obstacle confronting the development of the country. Neglecting responsibilities is another impediment to development. If everyone discharges their duties to the letter, it would facilitate the development of the country.
The National Mental Health Institute has been renamed as the National Judicial Psychology Rehabilitation centre with effect from today. The Minister participated on the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among those present were Ministry officials.
