The Consumer Affairs Authority has said that raids will be continuously conducted throughout the country for the protection of consumers.
Non display of price lists and selling commodities above the maximum price and t expired goods are reported among other illegal activities.
The raids are being conducted in Colombo, Hambantota, Gampaha and Puttlam Districts. The Consumer Affairs Authority said that the raids will not be halted due to pressure.
Legal action has been initiated against more than 360 traders who did not display price lists from May to July this year. The Consumer Affairs Authority has said that action has been taken against many others for being engaged in illegal activities.
