The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the Police to expedite investigations after securing reports on the computer network recovered from the political office of Sarath Fonseka.
The Police Chief had lodged a complaint with the CID that there was conspiracy to topple the Government in Sarath Fonseka’s office at Rajakeeya Mawatha in Colombo. Accordingly, the CID surrounded the related office. Submitting a report to Courts, the Police said that the 18 computers and five laptops seized from the office have been handed over to the Colombo University for further examination. The CID further intimated to the Magistrate’s Court that they had not yet received the examination reports and would solicit advice of the Attorney General for the inquiries.
