Fast-moving thunderstorms and a tornado moved through Lexington County Sunday night, ripping down trees and power lines and damaging a house.
The storms had moved through the county by dawn, but officials warned residents to take care if they come upon downed power lines or fallen trees.
One person suffered minor injuries when a tornado ripped off the roof of a house at 619 Cedar Grove Road in the Hollow Creek community, said Maj. John Allard with the Lexington County Sheriff?s Department.
The area is along Lake Murray off U.S. 378 and near the Lexington County border with Saluda County, Allard said.
Officials closed the 3500 block of U.S. 378 to traffic due to numerous downed trees and power lines. That block is between Ice Box Road and Lake Village Drive.
