A South Carolina woman has been arrested and accused of forging $45,000 in checks she deposited in her own account.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported Thursday that 68-year-old Doris Anne Bert of Clover had managed the finances of the company that suffered the loss.
York County sheriff's deputies say Bert is charged with six counts of forgery and two counts of breach of trust.
A sheriff's report states Bert wrote checks for as much as $20,000 from the accounts of Callahan Grading in York, where she did accounting work.
The report says Bert wrote at least seven checks, forging the signature. The checks were written between December and last week.
