A 33-year-old Cassatt man died after he was struck by a truck while riding a moped in Kershaw County.
The moped driver was driving north on U.S. 1 near Rogers Road Wednesday night, S.C. Highway Patrol trooper Billy Elder said. Around 9:33 p.m., a Ford truck heading south and driven by David Council, 40, of Camden, collided with the moped.
The moped driver, whose identity was not immediately available, died around 11 p.m. from his injuries. Best was wearing a seat belt but was taken to a medical facility for treatment, Elder said.
The collision remains under investigation.
