The Naval Ship “Wang Geon” of the Republic of Korea has arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill mission.
The ship reached the Colombo Harbour today. She was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy. Korean Ambassador Choi Ki Chul and over 100 South Koreans residing in Colombo were present to greet the ship.
The Korean ship is a destroyer belonging to the Korean Navy. It is 149 metres long. The ship complement consists of 42 Officers and 264 sailors. The ship will be anchored at the harbour until Saturday. The ship crew is due to participate in a series of programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to solidify relations between the two Navies.
