The Government has emphasized that there is no change in Sri Lanka’s stand on Ban Ki-Moon’s advisory panel. Minister Keheliya Rambukwella made a clarification at today’s weekly Cabinet news briefing in this respect.
The Minister said that principally the Government has opposed the panel without engaging in any dialogue. Sri Lanka is a member state and not a signatory to the treaty as well. He claimed that the Government had so many things to base its objections. But he said that they had shown their disagreement and was waiting for the next step to develop.
