A 35-year-old man has been charged with trafficking in marijuana after law enforcement officials seized 103 marijuana plants growing inside a Lexington-area home.
Lazaro Javier Amador was arrested Thursday after the plants, worth about $103,000, were found in the South Hampton Road home, authorities said. Amador had lived at the home since December 2009 with his wife and their teenage daughter.
He was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bail hearing, officials said.
Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET), federal Drug Enforcement Administration regional task force, federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and State Law Enforcement Division were involved in the seizure.
