The Health Minister has assured that he will leave no room for a dearth in drugs in any hospital in the future. Minister Maithripala Sirisena pointed out that the Government will continuously give priority for the provision of the necessary grants to purchase the medicinal drugs.
The Minister warned that if there was a shortage of any essential drug in a hospital, the authorities concerned will be responsible. The Minister was speaking at the monthly meeting for Hospital Directors. It is being organized to discuss shortcomings in hospitals. The Health Minister underlined that priority should be given to essential drugs when undertaking purchases.
