The final Randoli Perahera of the Annual Esala Festival of the historic Ruhuna Kataragama Devale will parade the streets today.
The Perahera will wend its way up to Kirivehera traditionally passing the Maha Devale, the Ghana Devale, the Kirivehera and the Ashtapala Bodhiya. Thereafter it will enter the streets from the main Wahalkada of the Kataragama Devale and reach the Walli-Amman Devale. After the conduct of religious rites, the Perahera will return to the Kataragama Maha Devale. The Kataragama Esala Festival will draw to a close with the water cutting ceremony in the Menik Ganga tomorrow.
