Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has invited the public to see the Hambanthota Harbour which is currently under construction. He says the programme to flood it with water will commence on the 15th of next month.
The Parliamentarian said anyone wishing to see a Harbour sans its water could have a look at it before the 15th. If they go there after the 15th, they will never again get the chance of seeing a Harbour minus the water in their lifetime.
He said if they come before the 15th, they will have the opportunity of seeing the Harbour without water. The ship entrance is scheduled to be opened on the 15th of August in order to flood the Harbour.
The first ship is expected to enter the Hambanthota Harbour by November this year. When finished, the Harbour will facilitate the handling of cement and fertilizers, and also the storage of fuel and gas.
