Plans underway to import next year’s medicinal drugs

Plans are afoot to import all medicinal drugs required by the hospitals for the next year. Deputy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that action will be initiated to import drugs based on the tender procedure.

The Deputy Minister said they have already drawn up plans to meet the requirements of the Hospitals. He revealed of an initiatives planned to import all medicinal drugs required by the Hospitals for next year. He said these will be undertaken based on the tender procedure.

The Minster was addressing a ceremony organized for the opening of the Maliban Rehabilitation Unit in Akmeemana. The Minister revealed of plans to upgrade the Karapitiya and Hambantota hospitals to fully fledged hospitals.

Southern Province Chief Minster Shan Wijelal de Silva and many politicians were present at this opening ceremony.
