Anyone who has listened to or watched Eshantha Peiris perform would think Sri Lanka’s own maestro composer and pianist always knew music was his path, but not so according to the 25 year old Josephian, "I think it would be relatively recently, I always played music but I think it was about 5 years ago that I decided this is what I want to do"
Eshantha studied at the prestigious New York University where he earned his bachelor’s and masters degree in music performance and composition and where he also served as an adjunct piano instructor and assistant conductor of the NYU orchestra.
Daily Mirror Online caught up with Eshantha and he spoke about his interests in other instruments and styles of music, "I play a bit of violin. Pianos my main instrument, anything keyboard related, that’s what I like, more then a new instrument I think I’d be interested in exploring new styles of music".
