410 million rupees has been allocated for the cultivation drive.
The funds have been set apart for the projects to be launched this year. The programmes are being launched to assure food security for the people and to control food imports.
Plans are underway to promote the use of organic fertilizer and distance the farming community from the use of chemical fertilizer.
It is also expected to increase the projects on home gardening. The Agricultural Ministry has said that it is expected to start cultivation in 26,000 acres of fallow paddy fields.
The projects to promote the use of organic fertilizer are also reported to be successful.
