Suriyawewa Stadium looking a picture

The Suriyawewa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota is looking a picture and is well on the way to being completed and ready when two games in the World Cup 2011 is called play.
D Somachandra de Silva, the irrepressible chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket is like a beaver working round the clock and keeping an eye on the Stadiums that are being readied for the World Cup games was at the Stadium in Hambantota on Wednesday to see for himself the work in progress.
This stadium is the brainchild of the sports loving and promoting President Mahinda Rajapaksa and he too is keen to see that the stadium will look its best once the work is completed and come World Cup time next February.
The President takes time off his many onerous duties to visit the stadium and to see for himself the work going on. The other day he was accompanied by Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa and together they visited every nook and corner of the stadium and were pleased with the work going on.
Ten Sports who are telecasting the on going Test series between India and Sri Lanka showed some wonderful aerial view pictures of the stadium during the Test and did not the stadium look a picture.
