Court orders production of records on cash found related to Sarath Fonseka’s case

The Colombo High Court has ordered to produce the case records and the relevant items in the case related to depositing millions of rupees belonging to the party office of Sarath Fonseka in a safe deposit box.

The case records and the relevant items are kept in the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate’s Court. The Registrar of the Court has been ordered to produce the items. The case will be heard by High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara on the 6th of next month. The Attorney General has filed the case against the son in law of Sarath Fonseka, Danuna Tillakaratne and his mother Asoka Tillakaratne for depositing the money in a vault belonging to a private Bank in Thimbirigasyaya violating the Exchange Control Act.
