Minister Maithripala Sirisena has said that the government has directed attention towards the development of the health sector in parallel to the development programme launched in the Eastern Province.
The Minister made this reference while undertaking a visit to the Katthankudy Hospital to inquire into the shortcomings. This Hospital was ravaged during the Tsunami. It was rebuilt with the support of the International Red Cross. The cost incurred was 400 million rupees. The Minister inspected this work. He was joined by a group including Deputy Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbullah.
