The foreign exchange has increased by 13 percent. This was stated by the Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabral. The Central Bank Governor said that the exports have increased by 11 percent from January to May. The foreign exchange flow into the country has increased by 13%. This has created an environment conducive for the appreciation of the rupee value. He said that the Central Bank has obtained foreign exchange and brought the exchange rate of the rupee to an appropriate level. He noted that the Central Bank has intervened in maintaining a reasonable rupee value for the benefit not only of importers and exporters but those who obtain and repay loans.
