A South Carolina man who avoided prison on a reckless homicide plea now faces an assault charge.
Multiple media outlets reported that 39-year-old John Ludwig Jr. turned himself in to Greenville authorities on Sunday on a charge of third-degree assault and battery.
Ludwig has been serving a three year probationary sentence for killing a homeowner when the speeding, out-of-control Maserati Ludwig was driving tore through Bill Bardsley's house in April 2009. Officials say Ludwig was driving at least 100 mph in a 35-mph zone.
Ludwig now is accused of cursing at and spitting on a man in Greenville restaurant July 20.
The charge is a misdemeanor. No hearing date has been set. It was unclear if he has an attorney.
