The Estate community has acclaimed the attention drawn by the President towards their children. During the recent progress review meeting in Kandy, the President drew his attention to the children of the Estate sector.
At the Kandy District progress review meeting, the President emphasized that all communities in the country as well as those who professed various faiths should have the opportunity of leading better lives. The President had received information that particularly, there is a trend of children of the Estate sector leaving schools pre-maturely. Giving his due consideration to this issue, the President pointed out that streamlined action should be initiated to impart proper education to them.
One of the Principals said they appreciate the President’s decision. He was confident that the Estate sector would be able to mould better citizens.
One of the Teachers said many children do not attend school. He said that the President’s decision is good to improve the educational level of these children. As such, their future will also be bright.
One of the parents pointed out that the children by improving their educational level would be able to make a vital contribution to the country.
