Aug 3, 2010 5:59:10 AM - itnnews.lk

Measures are being taken to improve the computer literacy rate from 30- percent to 50 percent during the next five years.

Minister Prof. Tissa Witharana made this reference at a certificate presentation for those who followed courses at the Vidatha Resource Centre in Malabe.

He said that India and South Korea are leading in Computer Technology in Asia. India has become a major country engaged in computer transactions in the world.

The Minister said that such a development is expected to be created in Sri Lanka. A notable feature is that 30,000 students had been provided computer knowledge through the Vidatha Centres during the last four years.
