There will be special transport services for the Kandy Esala Festival and the Madhu Feast.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board has drawn up plans to deploy 640 additional buses for the convenience of devotees participating in the Kandy Esala Festival. Measures are in place to operate 12 special trains from Colombo, Nawalapitiya and Matale. The special trains will be operative from the 20th to 25th of this month.
In the meantime, the special train service for Madhu pilgrims will be operative from the 13th to 15th of this month. In addition to six trains operating from Colombo to Medawachchiya, arrangements have been made to deploy six additional trains. It is also intended to deploy more than 40 buses for the convenience of the pilgrims.
