Two Opposition Members of Parliament P.Digambaram and Prabha Ganeshan pledge support to the President. They met President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees today and extended their support to the Government.
P.Digambaram, a Parliamentarian from the Nuwara Eliya District is the President of the National Workers Front while Prabha Ganeshan is a Parliamentarian from the Colombo District and the National Organiser of the Democratic People’s Front. They expressed their support to the Government.
Both Parliamentarians emphasized that no can reverse the accelerated development programme mooted by the Government. Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa were present on this occasion.
Prabha Ganeshan said that they cannot trust the UNP. During the polls the party got their support and marginalized them after the elections. As such they decided to join the government and support the development programmes launched in the country.
P. Digambaram said at this juncture due consideration should be given towards the development of the country. The UNP continuously dupes the public. They were misleading them as well as the country. The Government headed by the President somehow ended the war. As such, he said they joined the Government and will be supporting in its effort to develop the country.
