A wreck on Interstate 26 Thursday night shut down the highway for about 30 minutes and brought down an overhead sign on top of one of the vehicles, but caused only minor injuries.
Around 6:55 p.m., a Honda car driven by Tobias Crecensio, 28, North Charleston, changed lanes into a tractor trailer driven by Dean Crowell, 59, of Leesville, S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said.
Crowell veered off the road into the overhead sign structure over the westbound lanes around the 116 mile marker. The sign structure fell onto the trailer of Crowell's rig.
Both men were wearing seat belts. Crecensio was uninjured, but Crowell was taken by ambulance to the Lexington Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, Jones said.
Crecensio was charged with making an improper lane change.
