The Sri Lankan fishermen who were arrested in the Tamil Nadu state have been released.
They were taken into custody by the Indian Coast Guard on the 27th of last month. Three vessels belonging to the Balapitiya and Negombo fisheries harbours were also seized along with 15 fishermen who were taken into custody. The Tamil Nadu state government decided to release them following the intervention of Minister Rajitha Senaratne. Arrangements have also been made to bring back 42 fishermen along with 8 vessels, released earlier.
