Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has said that the massive development taking place in Hambantota was generating more jobs for young men and women.
Mr. Rajapaksa said that they are exploring the possibility of creating a climate to help the talented young men and women to take to self-employment or a small industry to suit their skills and training. The Vocational Training Ministry is now in the process of crafting the necessary plans to help these youth. Namal Rajapaksa emphasized that this was their target in the Hambantota District.
He was speaking at the launch of new courses at the Hambantota District Youth Centre. Deputy Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera and Rohana Dissanayake and Director General of the National Youth Services Council Lalith Piyum Perera were present on the occasion.
