Sri Lanka’s first consignment of assistance on behalf of Pakistanis who experienced the worst ever floods will be dispatched today. The loading of dry rations to the airplane took place yesterday.
Air Force Media Spokesman said that the stock was being sent on the instructions of the President. About 18 thousand kilograms of dry rations including rice, sugar and tea was airlifted by the C 130 airplane of the Air Force to Islamabad from the Katunayake International Airport at 7.00 a.m. today.. He said that the goods were collected via the External Affairs Minister. The operations were carried out under the guidance of the Air Force Commander. The Air Force Media Spokesman added that they had the capability of dispatching more aid in this manner.
