Minister Basil Rajapaksa has said that the targets expected to achieve under the Mahinda Chinthana policy with regard to Electricity Projects have been met.
He said that the aim of the Government is to provide solutions for electricity as well as people’s housing problem. A target expected to achieve under the Mahinda Chinthana was to provide basic facilities to people despite the region, the community and the religion.
He said that the programme to ‘supply electricity for all’ has been completed within two years, ahead of the expected time frame.
The Minister made these references when he participated in the inauguration of the Electricity Project at Dunu-paathagama in Yapahuwa under Electricity for All programme in the Wayamba Province.
The project is being implemented at the cost of more than three billion rupees with aid from the Iranian Government.
