The Government today rejected a US State Department report on Sri Lanka.
The Report stated that it should be evaluated whether international war regulations had been flouted during the last stage of the Northern operations. The Government said that contents of the report are baseless. In a statement, the Government it was totally rejecting the dossier. The Government statement said that in May 2009, Sri Lanka defeated the LTTE, recognized globally as a brutal terrorist organization. The conflict situation had a devastating effect on the people of Sri Lanka and that it has set a vigorous goal of rebuilding the nation to move forward into a new era of peace and prosperity. .
