The Philippines will provide medicinal drugs to Sri Lanka to treat critical dengue patients.
A Philippines Drugs Manufacturing Company is willing to provide 400 bottles of Dextron 40 free of charge. Given in the form of saline, the drug is being used to increase the blood count of critical dengue patients. The donation is being made in response to a request made by President of the Sri Lanka Drugs Manufacturers Association Ananda Samarasinghe from the Eromode Laboratories Company. Its value is 570 thousand rupees. Mr. Samarasinghe told Minister Maithripala Sirisena that the donation is due to reach the country within the next two weeks. The World Health Organisation also provided 1900 Dextron 40 bottles to the Health Minister yesterday.
