President Rajapaksa has assured every support for the promotion of the construction sector. He gave this pledge at the opening of he Construct 2010 Exhibition. It is being organized to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka National Construction Association.
The Exhibition is being held at the Siurimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre in Colombo. The Exhibition will be held until Sunday. The victories achieved in the construction field in Sri Lanka are immense. The President pointed out that the influence gained from the forefathers for the development of the construction sector in Sri Lanka, surmounting challenges posed by nature is significant.
The President opined that the local technology was built by the forefathers. The country should be very proud of it. The country should advance exploiting this ancient heritage to the maximum. The construction sector is the leader in development. It plays a prominent role. As a Government, the President said that they are geared to extending all assistance needed by the construction industry fulfilling its responsibility. Sri Lankans do not have another country other than their motherland. He added that everyone should be aware of what contribution they should make for the progress of the country.
The President was optimistic that he would receive the support of everyone in the future to uplift the construction sector within the GDP. Minister Wimal Weerawansa and Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna were among those who were present on the occasion.
