Minister Basil Rajapaksa has said that the development plan drawn under the Mahinda Chinthana is not confined only to urban areas. The President’s aim is to provide the facilities enjoyed by the urban people to the rural community as well.
The Minister was speaking after opening the Ihalave’tiyawa Community Water Supply Scheme which meets the drinking water requirement of 3000 families in Nochchiyagama. The Government completed the project at the expenditure of 8.9 million rupees. The Project fulfills the drinking water needs of the people in Ihalavetiyawa, Halmilla-kulama, Muditha-gama and Kusum-pura in Nochchiyagama. Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa and Chief Minister of Central Province Berty Premalal Dissanayaka were amongst the dignitaries who participated in the occasion.
