Sarath Fonseka and his Secretary are being indicted in the High Court for providing lodging to Army deserters.
The Attorney General intimated this to the Colombo High Court. Sarath Fonseka who is detained at the Naval Headquarters and his Secretary Senaka de Silva who is in remand custody, were produced in Courts today.
State Counsel Damith Totawatta making submissions said they had been indicted in the Colombo High Court. He said 41 charges have been made against the suspects.
Taking into consideration the submissions made by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmie Singappuli, orders were given to further detain them until the 30th of this month.
The CID has charged both suspects for providing shelter to the Army deserters and granting them salaries and using their services illegally.
