Local elections officials in South Carolina must certify the candidates and issues to be considered in the November election.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that noon Monday was the deadline for officials to set the ballots.
Democrats and Republicans finished choosing candidates in the June 22 primary runoffs. But other parties and candidates using the petition method to run for office had a later deadline. Petitions were due last month and county election officials must verify a candidate presented enough eligible signatures to qualify for the Nov. 2 ballot.
Monday also is the deadline for any referendum questions to be considered. Voters also will consider four amendments to the state constitution in the fall. Those questions include state finances, union voting and wildlife conservation.
