A team of Sri Lankan Doctors will be leaving the Island today to provide humanitarian assistance to the flood affected people in Pakistan.
The team includes specialist doctors. Member of the team, specialist at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo Dr. Vijith Gunasekere said that the decision to send the team of the doctors was made on the instructions of President Rajapaksa.
Dr. Vijith Gunasekera said the Government is sending team doctors to extend assistance to flood victims. Specialists and nursing officers are included in the team and they will be in Pakistan for two weeks.
The team is expecting to provide maximum service while in Pakistan and help the Pakistani. He said a stock of medical equipment and drugs has already been dispatched.
