A South Carolina woman who was accused of taking more than $500,000 from the bank where she worked has been sentenced to two years in prison.
The Greenville News reported Wednesday that federal court records show 45-year-old Kimberly O. McAbee also was ordered to pay restitution.
McAbee pleaded guilty in April to taking $520,000 from Arthur State Bank in Woodruff.
Her attorney, Rick Vieth (Veeth), says she has repaid about $177,000 and plans to repay all the money.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles says evidence shows she took the money between 2006 and last December by manipulating home equity lines of credit and mortgage loans held by family members and friends.
