700 million rupees has been set apart for the development of rural roads in Badulla District.
A special project is being implemented to renovate rural roads in the District. In the first phase of the programme roads in the villages are being developed.
10 kilometers will be carpeted on every road. The project covers Mahiyangana, Meegahakiula, Hali-ela and Welimada. Participating in the progress review meeting of the District Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that the project would be completed before the monsoons.
