More fishermen arrested in the Indian territorial waters and equipment are released.
Giving more details, Naval Media Spokesman Capt. Athula Senarath said that the repatriation of 26 fishermen took place yesterday. The Indian Coast Guard handed them over to the Sri Lanka Navy along with five trawlers at the Indo-Lanka maritime boundary line, North of Talaimannar. They were thereafter brought to the Talaimannar Naval base. The fishermen were residents of Trincomalee, Negombo and Matara. Capt. Senarath said that the Navy facilitated them to sail to their respective fishing Harbours.
