Special train services will be provided for the devotees who arrive in Kandy to view in the Esala Perahera Festival.
Commercial Superintendent of Railways Wijaya Samarasinghe said that arrangements have been made to operate special trains until next Wednesday.
He said the Railways will be operating several special trains in view of the Kandy Esala Festival. These special trains are being operated from Colombo to Kandy, Kandy to Matale and Kandy to Nawalapitiya from today.
He said that the train which leaves Kandy at 11.45 p.m. will reach Colombo at 3.07 a.m. until the 24th of this month. The train that leaves Colombo Fort at 7.10 a.m. will reach Kandy at 10.16 a.m on the 25th when the final Randoli Perahea will be held.
