ROCK HILL -- A Rock Hill man faces abuse-related charges in connection with allegations he physically assaulted three young children, police say.
Anthwan Apple, 21, was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of unlawful neglect toward a child, according to York County Sheriffs Office documents.
Apple was arrested after an investigation into allegations that he was hurting three children, ages 1, 2 and 3, said Lt. W. J. Miller of the York County Sheriffs Office. The victims are his girlfriends children.
Apple is accused of physical abuse, Miller said, including hitting, smacking and jerking the children's heads around. The investigation was launched Aug. 4, when a witness saw Apple treat the children in a violent manner, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.
A witness also told officers she saw Apple yell at the children and slap one of them in the face, the report states.
