Chinese assistance is being received for the development of Hospitals in the North and the East. The Funds will be used to procure medical equipment and improve many facilities.
The Chinese Government has agreed to grant a sum of 7410 million rupees to develop all Hospitals in the Noth and East. The funds will be channeled for the procurement of medical equipment, construction of new buildings and to improve the existing facilities. The relevant agreement was signed at the Health Ministry today. Health Secretary Dr. Ravindra Ruberu and Chinese representative Yang Lijing inked the Pact. The Government did not get the opportunity of developing these Hospitals due to the conflict that prevailed in these Provinces. The Health Secretary giving his views on the occasion was optimistic that the new Project would be able to effect massive development in the health sector.
